- Add wreaths.
There’s no better way to bring in the season. Wreaths are commonly associated with Christmas, and have been modified to fit fall. With a quick DIY arrangement, or even a trip to the art store, you can have a beautiful leaf wreath that shows your passion for fall and late summer.
- Update your plants.
Fall flowers are a different breed, and summer flowers need to be on the way out. Once they die in the cold weather, they’re going to be a sore sight on your porch and take away from its atmosphere. Large pots of mums are a great choice–go to your local flower shop and take a look around for seasonal plants that will look great on your porch.
- Change furniture color schemes.
A great way to bring in fall is to change the color scheme of any area. On your porch, you may want to be changing the color schemes of your outdoor cushions or your furniture. A quick layer of paint over your wooden furniture can add warmth and stability. Stick to oranges, browns and gold tones.
- Add candles.
It’s not quite cold enough yet to abandon sitting outside in the evenings. Add ambiance to your fall-themed porch with candles. They can be mosquito candles, or seasonal decorations. A great way to enhance candles is to invest in hanging holders that can provide another layer of decor.
