Accessorize and Accentuate Your Furniture
Who doesn’t love accessorizing? Besides assembling some stunning outfits, you can dress up your home’s interior as well! Use different patterns and textures to impress everyone in your household and some frequent visitors who drop by to spend time with you and yours. Plaids, faux fur, leopard, and fun text fonts are all visually appealing when done right. The goal here is to strive for tastefulness, and sometimes, it means to keep things low-key and understated instead of over the top. Blankets, miniature pumpkins, acorns, and pinecones are small touches that make a great impression, too!
Start Baking a Fresh Loaf of Pumpkin Bread
Even if you don’t think you’re a star baker, that shouldn’t hold you back. For example, making sourdough bread from scratch is a far different process than making an apple pie. Take that idea and run with it if you consider the iconic pumpkin pie as a must-have for your fall holiday meals. What do we mean by that? Spend more time in your beautiful kitchen and learn a new skill as you prepare a loaf of pumpkin bread. If that seems a little too challenging, you could choose to make pumpkin-flavored muffins, cookies, or pancakes instead!
Turn On the Crockpot for Chili or Other Soups
Soups are a versatile (and delicious meal) any time of the year. But there’s no doubt that soups and stews take center stage once the weather outside turns brisk. No matter which kind of chili you prefer, the homemade recipes upstage the canned brands. Put together a plate with cornbread drizzled with honey (and some freshly steamed brown rice). You’ll have a meal that can keep everyone warm and satisfied no matter how chilly (get it?) the fall weather forecast gets.
Put a Seasonal Simmer Pot On
If you aren’t familiar with what a simmer pot is, they are actually really simple. These concoctions help make your home smell fantastic without the need for candles or air freshener sprays. Some sample ingredients to include in your pot are orange peels, cinnamon sticks, apples, vanilla, and thyme. Don’t be afraid to experiment, either! Clove, ginger, and nutmeg pack a punch, too!
