Farmer’s Market
Eat healthy, buy local! The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) promotes the a local farmers’ markets where visitors can not only get direct access to fresh fruit, produce and locally made products but also support small businesses and the area’s economy. The Piney Orchard Farmer’s Market Piney Orchard runs from June 3 – October 28 every Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., and will continue from Nov. 4 – Nov. 25 on Wednesdays Noon – 4:00 p.m.
County Fair
Next week, from September 16-20, the Anne Arundel County Fair will be open to visitors! Today’s Fair has become a showcase of the agriculture and home arts which are slowly eroding from the landscape of a county which was once teeming with farms. It has become a place for the entire family to learn about Anne Arundel County’s past, present and future.
Come and visit all that the Fair has to offer – participate in the Cake Auction which raises money for the Anne Arundel County 4H organization, cheer for your favorite contestant in the 2015 Anne Arundel County Fair Queen beauty pageant, or simply enjoy the delicious food throughout the fair.
Downs Park Concert Series
Downs Park will host a terrific outdoor concert for the whole family to enjoy on September 20, 2015. Listen to Retro Rockets (50’s, 60’s and 70’s inspired music) and grab a blanket or lawn chairs, pack a picnic and have fun! Admission to the park during the time of the concert is free.
